What Is a Golden Sample and Why Must You Lock It Before Mass Production Starts?

1 answers General

My purchasing agent told me that a "sealed golden sample" was needed before mass production, but I didn't quite understand what this was and why it was important. I've confirmed a perfect trial sample, isn't that enough?

He said the golden samples are the official benchmark for quality inspections by quality inspectors. If I don't seal up the physical samples in the factory, workers may gradually deviate from the design I have approved and make modifications over time.

I have two questions: How to properly seal and keep the "golden samples"? In addition, what is the difference between a prototype, a confirmation sample and a "golden sample"?

    1. Simply confirming that the sample is perfect is not enough. Confirming samples is to judge whether the factory can make it, and golden samples are to ensure that each batch of goods in the future must look like this. If the process of mass production of products is long, deviations will easily emerge. The golden samples are used to regulate and control this deviation.

Prototype is mainly used to see whether the idea is right or not, whether the structure can be run, and the materials and surface treatments may be just enough. Confirmation Samples are produced in small batches, proving that they have this production capability. The Golden Sample must be taken from the pilot production line, formal molds, and formal production line. The quality inspector does not look at your confirmation samples when inspecting the goods, but only looks at this "golden sample".

The "golden sample" recommends taking 3 standard products as the female parent. One for the factory, one for yourself, and one for retention. If the sample needs to be sealed, it is recommended that the three parties sign at the seam of the seal, affix a label stating: product name, material number, date, and sample sealing person, and write "Unsealing is invalid without the consent of both parties." Then use high-definition photos and videos to archive, and all details of the samples and seals must be taken clearly.
